The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

4 out of 5 BONOS, its a shame because I really wanted to hate this movie.  After reading numorous bad reviews on this The Exorcism Of Emily Rose I had to check it out for myself.  In this film supposidly based on a true story a 19 year old Emily Rose who was suffering from satanic self possesion  has recently been prenounced dead by causes known only to the few that witnessed the Exorcism that took place on Halloween night.  Becuase of the strange killing Father Moore was taken to court by the state to settle this mess.  The intire film is based around the court room so if your expecting an all out horror flick beware becuase Emily Rose is definitly not a Horror movie.  Sure it has some shocking moments but nothing in the movie would make it elligible for the classification of a Horror film.  Also hints the title if you havnt guessed this film is based around religion.  The one thing that really saves this movie from being average is the incredible performance by Laura Linney who is best known for her roles in Mystic River, The Mothman Prophecies and Kongo and Tom Wilkinson who portrays an exelecnt Father Moore.  Finnaly if you like movies like Philadelphia or 12 Angry men and have a taste for thrillers then you will probably really "dig" this movie but even if you dont it still is worth a look at and possibly a buy.
